We are planning to fabricate a MS steel tank for storing glass. We have designed the shape of the tank and the capacity etc. The tank is approximately of 9 cubic metres and open on the top. Now we need help on the following 1. The thickness required for the tank sides and bottom. 2. The MS angle supports required on the tank sides and edges to prevent bulging and provide rigidity. 3. Since the tank is to be mounted at a height of about 1 metre from ground level, we need supports details for the MS columns and beams under the tank. The tank drawing will be provided when the project is taken up.

hi, please share tank Dia and height we can check failure by simulation in ansys software. we usually deal with this kind of problems and this can be solved by add sufficient stiffener and support arrangements. once we do simulation it will be 100 % validate as safe for operation. . I NEED FOLLOWING DETAILS:- 1) Tank Dia , height 2) glass density or equivalent we weight in kg. 3) required factor of safety. 4) drawing for reference. for location of cleaning Nozzle / sight glass etc if any. awaiting for your reply. thanks, thanks.
