Review Bluetooth RX/TX Chip Manufacturer Hardware Modules & Software for Channel Hopping Restriction

Milestones :

(A) Write a short list of 5-10 Bluetooth semiconductor manufacturers who sell Bluetooth TX & RX testing usb hardware modules and software.

(B) Briefly review the software datasheets from these manufacturers. Record a list of the hyperlinks of the software datasheets you review.

(C) As you find suitable software and hardware, highlight phrases within the software documentation and the usb module hardware documentation that describe the features we want in the software and hardware. Adobe Acrobat Reader allows for the document to be highlighted in yellow color.

(D) Usually the software is no cost. If no cost, you will download 2-4 softwares you predict may be suitable. You will install the software, or demo software, but not the usb hardware module. You will try to run the sofware on your pc, and evaluate if the software might perform the functions that the software datasheet and user manuals claim.

(E) You will indicate which softwares and hardwares we should trial for both Android and iOs, to run on a Windows PC usb. You will write a short memo listing the functions that we desire.

The Bluetooth semiconductor manufacturers, such as Texas Instruments & Nordic, sell Bluetooth hardware modules and software.

Here is an example of hardware module :

This interesting project reviews the datasheets for developer usb Bluetooth hardware modules, and the control softwares for the Bluetooth & BLE RX and TX.

You will evaluate the module's and software compatibility with Bluetooth 4.2 & BLE 5.0, emphasizing the older Bluetooth 4.2, 4.3, since 5.0 is not common yet.

We are primarily concerned with Android phones, iOs phones, Android tablets, and iOs tablets.

Specifically we want to purchase hardware and software which will allow us to restrict channel hopping to specific individual channels (For example, channels 37, 38, or 39) or to groups of channels (For example channels 8-9, or 21-23, or 33-36).

We want to be able to RECEIVE Bluetooth signals, and analyze the specific channels we are receiving, and the strength of the signals.

We want to be able to TRANSMIT Bluetooth signals continuously, and restrict the transmission to a specific channel, or to groups of channels. In addition, we may want to change the transmission to a periodic transmission.

We may want to test specific Bluetooth functions such as the Master specifying the broadcast channels for a couple of Slaves. Or we may want to test Bluetooth continuous advertising on channel 37 . Or we will want to test dividing RFCOMM channels and assigning unique UUIDs (on separate threads). Or we may want to use socket io by which we can broadcast specific data using socket id. Or we may want to test broadcast with BLE 4.2.

We do not want to write new software. We do not want to write scripts. We want to obtain software from the chip manufacturer that allows us to use their software to configure the Bluetooth module without us writing software or scripts.
