Half the price I have bid is a fair price for such services for the length of your manuscript, but on the Freelancer system we are not able to bid lower than the budget. I am a copy editor of more than 10 years' experience, three of these on Freelancer, where all my reviews are good. I have edited at least 60 books, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as many academic papers, and I am currently the copy editor for a number of entities, including the International Journal of Wellbeing and the Aegis Trust. I'd be happy to do a sample edit of a few pages of your manuscript, to see if you like my work.

In my opinion, if you pay an editor $3000 or more for a manuscript of your length, you will be paying too much. I am a skilled editor who has completed 12 books for well-satisfied authors. Although I am highly creative and accurate, I base my fee on the time it will take to complete a job and its complexity. I never gouge. I edit a book at least three times so that nothing is missed. If yours is a novel, I am great at enhancing dialogue and character development. If it's a self-help book, I draw on my knowledge of human nature to make sure all components ring true.
