We are developers with no experience with UNIX who found themselves in need to create a version of our Windows application for Linux. We need someone to create a “hello world” type of project for us that we can later populate with the actual code. Basically, the purpose is to accelerate our own learning curve. This is the description of what we need, apologies if the terms we use are not exact. The components of the project are: - Daemon written in .NET Core with GUI and command line interface - Firewall driver (C++), hooks to the firewall and inspects all incoming and outgoing packets. - A text file with a short list of IPs The daemon should have the following functionality: - Write to the file a text from GUI - Send command to Driver to reload the file - Receive and display the data from the Driver The Driver: - Collect the number of incoming packets and send to the daemon when requested - Reload the text file when requested by the daemon - Drop all incoming packets from IPs in the file, let through the rest All the compiled components should be easy to install for a novice user. The test machine we have at the moment is Ubuntu desktop 20.04
