Random Crate Drop + Interact and Pickup

This is a 2 part project.
The first part is to enable a coordinate system within the terrain.
The second part
Within the terrain, have a crate (The crate for now can be a placeholder, so I can add the crate later) fall from above and land randomly anywhere within the terrain which is totally accessible to the player and emit a pillar of light (Another placeholder so I can choose the item) allowing the player or players to see where the crate has landed.
Inside this crate is one item, it doesn't really matter what the item is, but what the item can do. When the player makes contact with the item, 2 things happen here. 1. 3 random items (Place holders for now) will randomly be placed on the map) 2. The player is granted an ability to pickup items. The item in the crate will also display 3 random locations on the screen for the player to go and visit.
When the player reaches each of the locations, the player will be asked to interact with each item. Once interaction has started, that item is removed from the field and added to the persons self, there is no inventory or anything, the player is just ticked to say yes the item has been picked up.
Once the player interacts with the last item and its been picked up, a message will appear on the screen asking the player if they would like to build the item (Pressing B), once built this will unlock a new feature for the player.
The ability to press the TAB key and display a map. The map will have several options from within the menu in Unity on what the player may see. This can be discussed further.
