I have a medical diagnosis of manic depression, or bipolar 1. I have had such a variety of really extreme experiences over the last 18 months and I am at a point now where if something huge doesn't change, my life will become irrepairibly deprived unless an awareness of all these intrinsically linked independent incidents is brought to the right people. Some need to review policies, some need a formal conplaints procedure following, some need public recognition and praise, some need to be prosecuted and others need to have justice. I would like to collaborate with a talented writer. One with a keen interest in Civil Rights and Discrimination for people with diagnosed mental health issues, to record my story. When I've told it I then want you ask as many questions as you need to make the story as thorough in detail as possible. When transcribing my story you will probably need to show some skill in piecing together the information into a chronolically accurate account. There will then be some investigation work that will need to be undertaken to ascertain the facts such as the requesting of confidential files and thoroughly examining the contents of phone and email accounts which corroborate certain accusations. This writer needs to have a passionate but well informed interest in the law and must be willing to search for case studies and legislation which could be relevant, but be creative when deciding why or how different examples (maybe from the legislature of other countries for example) could be associated as 'relevant'. Someone with a knowledge or interest in psychiatry, psychology and pharmacology research would be ideally suited although anyone with a research background in comparable research methods would be considered on merit. Evidence of writing first class academic essays would be great as the next part of the project would be to creatively provide an alternative story of what would have happened if instead of the negative events that did occur, a more positive experience was had and what that could have been. Suggestions for alternative policies or additional procedures that could have made those positive experiences happened. An understanding of what policies were followed to my detriment and what policies were not followed that should have been. The story covers in the main part the last 18 months but will need to reference in parts various historical life events and also historical facts relating to psychiatry and treatment. Projections for all manner of future possible outcomes would need to be brainstormed between the writer and myself. Ultimately this essay will form the basis for a press release, business plan, several complaints procedures, a call to action and witness statements. Ultimately the outcomes of all of the above and this written account will become the basis of a book which I intend to write myself but properly crediting the hard work of the writer who makes this happen. The right person will have the Desire and the knowledge to take the story to press. Contracts over fees would need to be agreed with relevant press agencies and negotiating skills would be an obvious advantage. Credit for any articles would remain with the writer and fees per publication would be negotiated with any publishers independently of the hourly rate I would pay for your time. This project would suit someone flexible and with a need for an intense workload initially followed by a small but steady few hours here and there after. The project is complex and ongoing, with many facets and objectives. An hourly rate is therefore the only feasible way off managing the requirements. Although a competent writer myself, the collaboration with someone else is, for the foreseeable, the only realistic way of achieving results in the time limits required. Initial story needs to be finished within 2 weeks. This doesn't need to be evidenced. The subsequent development of the story into effectively a research paper will need to be turned around in 6 weeks. Any further written requirements that arise from this research will be offered to the writer first. I anticipate there to be a requirement for several letters, stories, blog posts, bids and campaigns overall over the next 6-12 months.
