Write City Guides!

We are looking for writers who are plugged into their cities and can give a local's point of view of the best things to do, places to see and restaurants to visit. We want you to be able to write us a guide to your city that is exciting, concise, succinct, and inspires wanderlust. By the end of your article, we should be salivating at the thought of visiting where you are from! Include humor - what are the unique things that we would only see if we go to your city? We want to know what to do off the beaten track, not the usual tourist hotspots! We want to feel the local culture and history, or look forward to tasting the local foods. What makes that city unique, compared to all the other places in the world? Why would we go there specifically instead of spending our holiday elsewhere? In essence, any of our writers would need to inadvertently promote the place and use excitable language. We want to deliver the story you read about or the article you read about that makes you go, "I never saw that city in that way before! Now I want to visit!" In other words, that readers would see the city through a local's eyes - a local who loves and takes great pride in where they are from. Since our goal is to create guides for all the major cities, we're looking for multiple pro-writers to work with us. - We already have a style guide we can share - You'd be working off of an established template - There's opportunity for continued work beyond the budget listed here if you're the right fit If you are interested in this opportunity, you must include the following in your pitch: - Tell us how your writing will stand out from the typical tourist guides - Include a 1-3 paragraph sample of writing that introduces any city or country in the world. Consider the sample to be like the back cover of a guide book that introduces the city and makes people want to buy it.
