I have been working for the US Embassy Riga since March 2016. I am Russian Media specialist which means that I do translations an write content on the everyday basis. I translate interviews, statements, remarks, press releases, news articles and web site content. As I work for the diplomatic mission and in the field of public diplomacy, I understand the importance of gramatically correct language and text style.
However I also work for as a freelance translator and copywriter. In my portfolio I have legal texts, web sites, technical texts and etc. My mother tongue is Russian, but I also concider Latvian to be my second mother tongue.
Yet, it is my experience in the media that has actually expanded my professional capacities. I have been involved in writing, monitoring, translating, and editing Latvian, European, and the world news
I have two years of work experience involving administrative duties, such as answering the calls, liaison with the clients and the senior management via email, telephone and fax, as well as printing and filing the documents, ensuring their correctness. I have learnt to work under pressure, especially in terms of withstanding extra hours. Furthermore, I have worked with the organization of the archives, which made me incredibly attentive to detail and responsible. I also have worked as a project manager, where I was involved in public relations and communication with the partners, historians, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
