Hello, I am a University student in the United Kingdom and would be honored to write for you. I have attached a segment of my most recent essay as a sample.
Dear Grandad,
Today I found myself questioning my own mode of [login to view URL] self reflection was primarily due to my recent enrolment into a unit in which colonial and postcolonial geographies are being examined. The aforementioned questioning occurred whilst carrying out research for my dissertation which involves resistance to colonisation during the Scramble for Africa. I came across the work of Menna Abdel-Dayem, a staff member of the Cairo University in Egypt, which was hugely beneficial to my project. However, I found myself instinctively questioning the legitimacy of her writings. Was this an acceptable source to use in my dissertation? She had no papers on Google Scholar? Was her information incorrect? Maybe bias? Perhaps I should instead focus on the published and acclaimed work of Berman, Sbacchi or Larebo. All of whom happened to be white european males.
This questioning of Abdel-Dayems work reminded me of a recent lecture in which the distinction of legitimacy in regards to the cosmology approach of Linneus and Barsana was analysed. Why is it that the structured, systematic and ordered grid, like approach of Linnaeus, was deemed as more academically appropriate by me and my peers?
