Moving on tv review of “Red call”
Last Wednesday, I sat through a preview screening, of a great new film by the director Steve Gough Red call. The film was screened at the Regent street cinema in London, and was a breath of fresh air, to most of us, who are subjected more or less to the same drivel of lack of common sense, and predictable story lines. The story revolves around a Samaritan who receives a call from a young man, who is about to blow up a car in central London. It is set in the call centre, with the police inspector holding an interrogation, with the woman as she tries to figure out, how she could have stopped the tragedy in some way. The night of the attack is Christmas eve, and the streets of London are packed with people fighting to get home to their families and friends before the midnight hour. The intense story line, fraught with panic from the young Samaritan, and gaslighting from the police, created a wonderful tapestry of intrigue, and speculation, entwined with some compassion and humour, culminating in an informative passionate and extremely clever script.
Coupled with the great acting and portrayal of characters, I can see this film doing well in festivals, bringing back awards, for the director Steve Gough, who has won Baftas in the past.
I wish him and the cast and crew luck and celebrate the birth of some great new talent on to the big screen .I would also like to point out the great venue, which demonstrated the perfect seating comfortable and accessible and the great location to the tube station, making it easy to find too.
These elements all made for a great night out in London, coupled by great company, talent and a bar to compliment the proceedings.
