Project: Help Us Set Up Hiring, Pay & Basic Ops for a NYC Startup (Short-Term) We’re an early-stage ride-hailing startup preparing for our New York City launch in March, and we’re looking for someone experienced in US / NYC HR setup to help us get the basics right — lean, compliant, and cost-friendly. We’ll start with 1–3 employees only, so we’re not looking for enterprise solutions — just practical advice and vendor recommendations that make sense for a startup. What We Need Help With 1. Salary Guidance (NYC) Recommend reasonable salary ranges for the attached roles (intern / junior / associate level) Keep it market-aware but startup-lean 2. HR & Employment Basics (US / NYC) Advice on contract types (internship, fixed-term, at-will, etc.) Must-have HR terms and clauses (termination, confidentiality, performance, visa disclaimer, etc.) 3. Low-Cost / No-Cost Hiring Channels Where to post roles for free or very cheaply Universities to reach out to (OPT / CPT friendly) Simple outreach methods without agencies 4. Simple Hiring Process A lean hiring flow (1–2 interview rounds max) 5. Payroll & Accounting Vendors (Cost-Friendly) Recommend reputable but affordable vendors for: Payroll processing (small headcount) Basic HR compliance support Accounting / bookkeeping / tax filings We are not looking for large, expensive firms — just reliable, startup-friendly providers suitable for 1–3 employees.
