They must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as they respond to phone queries and emails and deal with internal messages and departmental requests.

As clerical or secretarial workers are often the first point of contact when a potential customer or client engages a business, it is the role of the worker to create a flattering first impression, as this will greatly improve the chances of this individual taking up the services offered.
