Alibaba provides business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and consumer-to-consumer sales service through web portals. It also provides cloud computing services, shopping search engines and electronic payment services.

Alibaba is undeniable the largest e-commerce company in the world. Alibaba has 3 main sites, which are Taobao, Tmall and Alibaba.com. These sites have millions of users, and host lots of businesses and merchants. Till date, Alibaba handles more online business transactions than any other online marketplace.

Alibaba can be said to be the most popular destination for online commerce and hold the title of the fastest growing online commerce market in the world. Transactions on Alibaba equaled about $248 billion last year, which surpasses that of eBay and Amazon.com put together. Alibaba was founded in 1999 by Jack Ma who currently function as the company’s spiritual leader.
