Hey!

Electronic / pop / rock band named Paper Idol looking for a logo. The design has already been created: it uses option-1 on a mac keyboard to create a "¡" and also a ">" symbol to create "¡>" (which has a "p" and and "i" in the logo for Paper Idol). I've attached a few of my own designs but I don't love any of them. We envision something that uses the "¡>" concept but looks cooler.

As you design, please keep the following in mind:

1) The music is in the indie space - it sounds like a cross between dance music (Daft Punk / Justice) and indie rock bands (The Strokes / Arctic Monkeys)
2) The logo should fit in with the rest of the album artwork (attached). The aesthetic is surrealist collage / retro VHS style.
3) The font for the project is Alte Haas Grotesk - the logo does not have to be that font but should fit in that vibe.
5) Nothing corporate / businesslike please
6) Should be monochromatic and flat, or able to be monochromatic / flattened

IMPORTANT:
**DO NOT simply use an edited version of the same font in the examples, unless it's unique (simply changing the colors or adding an effect does not count). I'd like to see fonts / shapes you come up with!**
** It can be extremely minimal - only a couple of simple lines and curves is better than complicated **
**Black and White is good!!**
