Home will be located in area code 54868 (Rice Lake, Wisconsin)

SIP Panel House Design

Looking for a one-level home design using Structural Insulated Panels and utilizing passive solar window design
House will be built on a concrete slab and will have in-floor heat
There will be no basement

We would like a design that has three sections to the house.
Shaped in a south-facing “U”or “V” design
With an outside courtyard or gathering space in the front (south side) of the great room/open kitchen area – this area would also serve as the home’s main entrance

1. The main section has the great room and open kitchen (There needs to be room for a loft in the main section/center)
2. Master suite section – bedroom and full bath
3. 2 additional bedrooms would have their own section, full bath

The courtyard/gathering area is in the center of the “U” or “V” in order to protect the area from harsh winter winds coming from the west

Would like the open courtyard area to be covered by a pergola or some other roof that will not impede solar gains needed from passive solar wind designs

The kitchen can be further back in the center section, perhaps with a north-side entrance coming in from the detached garage

Would like to enter the home through a mudroom/laundry/pantry area from the back (north) side

Simple, contemporary design with clean lines, large windows, and non-traditional ways to open the house to nature as this is in the middle of a forest.
