We are a new food franchise thats launching in Australia and attached is a proposed press release that explains exactly what we do.

We were thinking about having an advertising campaign that undertakes the delivery of our message in a series of comics.

We are looking at 2-3 series of ads to launch the brand. We don't have any ideas of the characters and how the story would evolve.

We are open to any creative input into the advert and concepts.

The winner will be exposed to a lot of additional work from a variety of projects.

Maybe give us an example of what work you have done previously and we are happy to take adice on any crerative component.


Slide 1

Two friends walking (or family of 4) down the street and one says to the other - I'm starving. The other says I'm thirsty but where can we go?

A slide showing a new group of friends or more families all eating and drinking selfie foods products including juices, smoothies, wraps, fruit salad, froyo and bottle of water walking in the opposite direction.

Friend 1 asks them where did you get all that - it looks amazing. New friend 1 says Selfie Foods at Kogarah Town Centre above the train station. New friend 2 says and it's all ridiculously cheap and uses fresh products nothing artificial.

Friend 1 and 2 head towards selfie foods (in background with lots of people ordering, looking at the open refrigerator, Froyos, fresh fruit and vegetables) with an excited look on their face.

Friendly selfie foods staff members approaches friend 1&2 and says hey guys, how are you today and welcome to selfie foods. Friend 2 says how does this work?

Slide 6

Selfie staffer says it's easy, you help yourself to everything in store (pointing to the store) (photos provided to create background images), Froyos, salads, juices, wraps, smoothies, handing them a menu. Friend 1 and 2 look impressed.

Slide 7

Staffer 2 gives them a loyalty coupon which has our App Store app highlighted and says what can we get you today, friend 1 says banana smoothie and friend 2 says I'm going to get a wrap and fresh juice combo.

Slide 8

Two friends walk away with their selfie foods products looking very excited and says, how awesome is that place and I can't get over how cheap it is.

Targeting young market with young characters. Photos of logos, staff uniforms, store will be provided.

Happy for the contest to be judged on a slide or two and then the balance of the slides can be finished after the contest is won.

    I see that you seem to prefer romwer's art style.
    Please confirm so I can make a draft where my characters look like those. I will submit a design immidiately that mimics the art style of romwer.

      You invited him in the comment section. I looked at his profile and saw caricatures. Did you intend to go with caricatures rather than comics? In your briefing attachments I was under the assumption you just placed in the comic styles as general iamges to suggest you wanted a comic art style, specially those full color no outline image one. So I made a comic book art for the submission. But right now I am making a caricature like rough sketch. Will be uploading it soon. Please do stay online so you can leave a feedback. But the way my panel and story flowed was acceptable yes? Just that it was not the art style you were looking for. So I intend to rectify that. Do stay online.

      individual scene size is 14cm wide by 10cm high. that should fit all scenes on one a3 page.

    Would it be ok to just set up the 7 slides with a sketch and the FIRST PAGE be the one that is full on detailed comics drawing?

    Seeing that this is a contest, giving in too much time without a guaranteed win would be eating up alternative opportunities.

    The sketch would give you the idea that the artist knows how to create interesting scenes with good story visual flow while the first detailed page would give you an idea of how good the artist is at detail work.

    Please do reply in order to help in the maing of the decision.
